Digital Collage

My artistic process usually begins with simple sketches or some form of collage, creating a visual stimulus from which I then further develop these works, using a range of media to result in a finalised outcome. These works however, exist in a sort of limbo state between the stages of my usual practice, where further development or alternative mediums would only detract from the visual exuberance that digital media provides. These works have been realised through mass experimentation and exploration of what non-traditional mediums can provide, allowing me to manipulate the forms and hues of various images and found objects, overlaying these in ways that physical media would not typically allow.

Listed alongside some of my more experimental works is a custom commissioned mini-series titled “Kimchi’s Jungle”. With these pieces in particular I had wanted to make the work as unique and personal to the commissioner as it could be, with all of the collaged elements consisting of their own belongings; the exotic house plants in their home, crystals from their altar and the terrarium in which their pet frog resides. These works now exist as a triad of A4 prints within their personal collection.
